Omaha Police Chief Thomas Warren announces retirement

By Katie Knapp

Omaha, NE – During a news conference at City Hall this morning, Warren announced he's accepted an executive-level position in the Omaha area. He'll be retiring from the Police Department this Friday after spending 24 years on the force, including the last four as Chief. Warren says his decision to retire was a difficult one, but he feels as though he's leaving the department in good standing. Mayor Mike Fahey named Deputy Chief Eric Buske as interim Police Chief. An internal search will be conducted over the next few months to find a new Chief.
