Omaha Police officer dies of stomach cancer

Omaha, NE – A five-year veteran of the Omaha Police force has died after a battle with stomach cancer.
A news release from OPD says Officer Kirk Tynes died Monday morning. He was 44 years old. Tynes joined the police department in October 2004. He's survived by his wife, Debra, two sons, and a daughter.
Visitation and Rosary for Officer Tynes are Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass is Thursday morning at the church.
