Omaha Press Club's latest Noon Forum focuses on Bud Crawford's trip to Africa

Last month’s Omaha Press Club Noon Forum focused on boxing champion and Omaha native Bud Crawford.

Writer Leo Adam Biga accompanied Crawford and Crawford’s fourth grade teacher Jamie Nollette to Africa in June 2015.

During the Noon Forum, Biga talked about the 12-day trip which focused on humanity work.

Nollette is the founder and executive director of Pipeline Worldwide, a nonprofit working on sustainability and self-sufficiency in Uganda and Rwanda.

At the end of his presentation, Biga was asked what western culture can learn from African culture.

"They want what we have and they should but there is a certain joy about living life and not being so consumed with material things.  So they need and want lots of things but at the same time, they have this kind of ability to look past that.”

The Omaha Press Club’s Noon Forum airs in its entirety on Monday, September 12th at Noon.
