The Omaha Summer Arts Festival is currently in its 39th year. The festival takes place this weekend.
Brenda Hermanek, Spokesperson for the festival, says the diverse group of artists that attend are not just from Nebraska but represent more than 25 other states as well.
She says lots of artists return each year as the festival has become a tradition.
Hermanek says the festival welcomes 135 artists this year.
"They basically come through a selection of close to 400 applications in different mediums including jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and painting. In addition to our wonderful Artists’ Market, we have our Taste Fest area where individuals can come down and enjoy the atmosphere, have dinner or lunch and enjoy live music.”
The 2013 Summer Arts Festival takes place today through Sunday on Farnam from 10th to 15th Streets.
