Omaha teacher accused of student sex assault

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A 28-year-old Omaha teacher has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student.

Online court records say Ty Warner is charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a child and one count of witness tampering.

Warner was put on paid administrative leave on Nov. 25 from his position at Alpha School, an alternative school for students with behavioral or emotional conditions. He's been teaching at the school for five years.

Douglas County Jail records say Warner remained in custody on Tuesday. Online court records don't include the name of his attorney.
