Omaha woman convicted of robbing Fremont bank

FREMONT, Neb. (AP) — A 19-year-old Omaha woman has been convicted of robbing a Fremont bank.

The Fremont Tribune says (http://bit.ly/1dTJ4kj ) Kimberly Babbitt pleaded no contest to robbery on Monday. Prosecutors dropped another robbery count in return for her plea. Her sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 13.

Dodge County Attorney Oliver Glass says Babbitt went into the Fremont National Bank on Sept. 28, pushed her way to the front of a line of customers and handed a bank teller a note demanding money. After receiving some money, Babbitt went to a second teller and demanded more money.

Authorities say Babbitt left the bank with about $2,000.

Babbitt used to live in Fremont.
