The 16th annual Omaha Women’s Health and Wellness Conferencewill take place Friday, October 11th at the La Vista Conference Center.
Christin McDermott, Media Specialist with UNMC’s Olson Center for Women, says this year’s theme is “Healthy Relationships: Enriching Your Life and Improving Your Health.”
McDermott says the conference is open to women in the community and will feature a health fair, flu shots, educational speakers and health screenings.
"Women always put our health and wellness on the back burner and concentrate on our families and our work and all of our other projects we are involved with so this one day event definitely provides a great opportunity for women to learn more and empower themselves on their own health and wellness.”
McDermott says this information can also be shared with family and friends.
Additionally, continuing nurse education credit is available for a fee.
