OneWorld to open clinic in Bellevue

Omaha’s OneWorld Community Health Centers will open a clinic in Bellevue this fall.

The new clinic will be located at 2207 Georgia Avenue, near Galvin and Fort Crook Roads. It’ll have nine medical rooms and three dental chairs. The Bellevue clinic will also offer mental health services.

OneWorld CEO Andrea Skolkin says the new clinic means they can see more patients, and not have to turn people away.

"When we open that location, then that will relieve some pressure, I would say, in south Omaha and the immediate neighborhood and we’ll be able to see more patients here (in south Omaha), and then our patients from Sarpy County, La Vista, Bellevue, will be able to go there."

Skolkin says OneWorld’s south and west Omaha locations often get patients from Sarpy County. OneWorld provides health services primarily for a low-income population. Last year, the organization cared for more than 32,000 patients, with 85 percent of them living at or below 200 percent of the poverty line.

Bellevue’s clinic is scheduled to open in November. It’ll be OneWorld’s tenth health clinic. They also run four school-based health centers.
