OPD holding a gun amnesty day Saturday

May 24, 2013

The Omaha Police Department in partnership with Salem Baptist Church is holding a Gun Amnesty Day tomorrow (Saturday) from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Unwanted or illegal guns and ammunition will be collected at the Eagles Nest Worship Center with no questions asked.

The goal of Gun Amnesty Day is to get as many illegal and unwanted firearms off the street as possible.

It is helpful to turn in the guns unloaded.  If you are unable to unload the gun or are not sure if the gun is loaded, you should let staff know before you take it out of your vehicle.

Salem Baptist Church is located at 3131 Lake Street.
