Opera Omaha Announces New Season

Opera Unbound is the theme of Opera Omaha’s 2014-2015 season.

General Director Roger Weitz says this season the opera intends to break beyond its venue and get out and engage the community.

Weitz says Opera Omaha will offer activities and performances at more venues than just the Orpheum Theatre.

He says the highlight of the opera’s community engagement work this season is their free opera concert.

"And that’s taking place on September 4th at Turner Park in Midtown Crossing.  And this year we have four bonafide opera stars that have performed all over the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and they will be performing some of opera’s greatest hits with the help of our Opera Omaha chorus and conducted by our resident Music Director, J. Gawf.”

This season’s operas include Rigoletto by Verdi, A Flowering Tree by American composer John Adams and Fidelio by Beethoven.

Single tickets for Opera Omaha’s upcoming season are on sale September 2nd
