Operation Warm: firefighters look to provide winter coats to needy children

Omaha firefighters are asking for the public’s help to provide winter coats to children in need.

This is the second year the Omaha Professional Firefighters Association has participated in Operation Warm. It’s a nationwide initiative that distributed more than 300,000 coats to children in 43 states last year.

Trevor Towey of the Omaha Professional Firefighters Association says they distributed 225 winter coats last year. They hope to exceed that number this year.

The Omaha Professional Firefighters Association is taking donations to purchase the coats. They’ll be distributed in December. More information is available at www.supportomahafire.com/operationwarm.
