OPL's Summer Reading Program is in full swing

The Omaha Public Library’s Summer Reading Program continues through the end of July.

The Program is open to kids, teens and adults.

Gary Wasdin, Executive Director for the Omaha Public Library, says a lot of people join in the middle of the program, especially if they’ve been on vacation.

Wasdin says there are a couple of different components to the program.

"Once you register, there are different incentives for reading for each different age group.  The kids and teens have a lot of special prizes they get for reading. That gives them a little bit of a competitive edge to encourage them to read more.  For the adults, they’re entered into drawings for gift certificates and other special prizes throughout the summer.”

Wasdin says individuals interested in joining the Summer Reading Program may do so online at www.omahalibrary.org.
