Opportunity at Work initiative launches
By Katie Knapp
Omaha, NE – The Opportunity at Work coalition is comprised of businesses, non-profit organizations, and social service agencies. The initiative seeks to help primarily low-income families and individuals become financially secure. The Opportunity at Work coalition is focusing on research, education and policy strategies. Among the initiatives the group wants are automatic 401-K enrollment, financial wellness programs, and workplace flexibility for low-income employees. Kathy Moore of Voices for Children in Nebraska, one organization involved in the coalition, says many families are struggling now to get by, and Opportunity at Work hopes to help them.
