OPS board: three incumbents, six new members elected

OPS

The Omaha Public Schools board has six new members.

Voters in the OPS district chose nine board members in Tuesday’s election. Earlier this year, the Nebraska Legislature approved a measure that cut the number of seats on the OPS board from 12 to 9 members.

The new board members are Yolanda Williams, Lou Ann Goding, Katie Underwood, Marque Snow, Matt Scanlan, and Lacey Merica. Goding defeated incumbent Jennifer Tompkins Kirshenbaum. Scanlan defeated incumbent and longtime board member Nancy Kratky.

Marian Fey, Justin Wayne, and Sarah Brumfield were re-elected to the OPS board. Fey is currently the board president.
