Pecha Kucha set for February 20th

The Green Omaha Coalition is a group of leaders who help endorse sustainability in the Omaha area.

Sarah Campbell, Vice President of the Green Omaha Coalition, says the group hosts fun, informative events, distributes information to members of the community and helps connect its members with community events and groups.

Campbell says the GOC endorses collaboration, education and advocacy as its three main pillars.

On Tuesday, February 20th, the Green Omaha Coalition will present Pecha Kucha.

Campbell says the event is hosting educational groups so presenters have to be involved directly with sustainable initiatives in schools, youth programs or educational institutions.

"Specifically the Pecha Kucha is a fast-paced event where each group does a PowerPoint presentation to show what they’re doing.  And they get to do 10 PowerPoint slides.  And each slide is 20 seconds so the total presentation time is only three minutes and 20 seconds.”

Campbell says the event takes place on February 20th from 5:30 to 8:00.  She says there is no charge to attend.

The hope is that those attending will learn a bit about how they can get involved in some of these educational programs and help promote sustainability to the younger generations.
