Omaha, NE – With bitterly cold weather sticking around through this week, the Nebraska Humane Society wants pet owners to make sure their animals are safe and warm. Humane Society spokeswoman Pam Wiese says outdoor pets should be brought inside. If that isn't possible, Wiese says pet owners should make sure the pet's outdoor shelter is shielded from the cold. She says the pet's house shouldn't be much larger than the animal. It should be lined with hay and have a door. Also, Wiese says outdoor pets should have additional food and water.
