Peter Kiewit Foundation to distribute $500,000 through ArtStock initiative

ArtStock is a grant and capacity building initiative of the Peter Kiewit Foundation.

Paul Ternes, Program Officer for Peter Kiewit Foundation, says the intent of the ArtStock initiative is to support more efficient operations, organizational effectiveness and further mission fulfillment.

Ternes says Peter Kiewit does that through capacity building grants and a series of capacity building sessions.

He says the program is open to 501c3 arts and cultural organizations in Douglas County.

Ternes says the initiative, which began in 2013, will distribute a total of $500,000 in 2016.

"Our approach in all of our grant making is we aren’t the experts so we really want all of these organizations to take the time to share with us what is and isn’t working with their organizational operations, share with us their goals and priorities, and then it’s posing a simple question back of ask yourself how could a one-time infusion of funding help?”

Ternes says the process starts with a phone call to the foundation office to verify eligibility. After that, there’s an online application process which is open through February 5th

Ternes says once all the applications have been received and reviewed, grant recipients will be notified in late March.

For more information, the phone number is 402-344-7890.
