Plowing, clearing of snow could be finished by Friday

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – It could be the end of this week before Omaha Public Works crews are finished plowing and clearing snow from residential neighborhoods.

Street maintenance superintendent Scott McIntyre says some residential areas need additional work. In others, blowing and drifting snow or cars parked along the street are making snow removal difficult.

McIntyre says the city has a good stockpile of salt. But he says a demand for salt throughout the region could create a shortage. The city can get sand quickly.
