Police: 2 arrested in man's northeast Omaha slaying

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Police say a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman have been arrested in connection to the death of a man found dead in northeast Omaha.

The Omaha Police Department said in a news release Thursday that 18-year-old Karina Rodriguez-Lopez and the boy have been charged with first-degree murder. The boy is also charged with owning a gun unlawfully and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

The Associated Press generally does not name juveniles charged with a crime. It was not immediately clear if Rodriguez-Lopez has an attorney who can speak on her behalf.

Authorities say officers responded to a report of a shooting Monday night and found the body of 18-year-old Gustavo Soto in a vacant lot.
