Police identify body found in Omaha cemetery

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a woman whose body was found in an open grave at an Omaha cemetery.

Omaha police identified her as 19-year-old Melissa Rodriguez, of Omaha. Her death is being investigated as a homicide. No arrests have been reported.

Officers were called to Graceland Park Cemetery around 10 a.m. on Thursday to investigate the discovery of the body. The cemetery was closed for the rest of the day, and a scheduled burial at the grave was postponed.

The graveside service was scheduled for 28-year-old Kevin McIntyre, who was shot and killed on Aug. 4. Authorities say they do not believe the McIntyre slaying is connected to the slaying of Rodriguez.
