Police: two robberies in Omaha Tuesday night are connected

Omaha Police say Tuesday’s robberies at Wendy’s and Little Caesar’s are connected, and a suspect is in custody.

Police were called to the Little Caesar’s on Saddle Creek Road Tuesday evening about 15 minutes before responding to Wendy’s. The suspect in the Little Caesar’s robbery was identified as a white female. Authorities say she displayed a handgun and demanded money.

24-year-old Jeneva Arias is being held in Douglas County Corrections on a robbery charge connected to that case. Police say Arias is an associate of 32-year-old Cortez Washington, who was shot and killed Tuesday night by Omaha Police after they responded to a report of an armed robbery.

According to police, a car found just north of Wendy’s registered to Cortez Washington contained evidence from the Little Caesar’s robbery.

A sound technician for the TV show Cops, 38-year-old Bryce Dion, was struck by a bullet fired by Omaha Police Tuesday night and died. Washington was armed with an Airsoft pistol.
