Power outages remain after Monday morning storm in Omaha metro

OPPD says more than 10,000 customers remain without power after a severe storm moved through the metro Monday morning.

OPPD officials report on their storm and outage blog that all power should be restored by Wednesday. Two OPS schools are closed Tuesday due to the power outages.

A wind gust of 69 miles per hour was reported at Eppley Airfield during the storms, according to the National Weather Service in Omaha.

OPPD is updating the status of electricity restoration on its storm and outage blog, oppdstorminfo.blogspot.com. In Iowa, you can check the status of outages at www.midamericanenergy.com.
