Project North Omaha invites the community to a meeting that will focus on past achievements and future directions

By Cheril Lee

Omaha, NE – A North Omaha Development Project community meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27th.

The meeting will be held on Metro's Fort Omaha campus, at the Institute for the Culinary Arts. Executive Director Ed Cochran says the meeting will feature accomplishments from 2010 as well as highlight the plans, objectives and goals for 2011. He says one of the biggest accomplishments was the opening of three financial institutions within a 60-day period, "Centris Federal Credit Union, SAC Federal Credit Union and First National Bank of Omaha." In 2011, Cochran says, "we'll be focusing on a business expansion. We want to have some industrial sites ready for companies and organizations that would like to expand and grow into that area as well as commercial and retail site development."

Cochran says there will be refreshments and a chance to talk with Project North Omaha staff before the meeting, starting at 5:15. Details are available online at projectnorthomaha.org.
