Omaha, NE – The Recall Fahey Committee is making a last-minute push to collect signatures before their deadline. The Committee set a goal of collecting 26,000 signatures by April 22nd.

Recall Fahey Committee Co-Chairman Ryan Chappelear says 1,300 petitions have been distributed to volunteers. Those petitions represent 26,000 signatures. Chappelear says 300 additional petitions were requested so volunteers can get more petitions if needed.

Chappelear says the signature count won't be released until the end of the petition drive. However, he's optimistic that 26,000 signatures will be collected. He says so far, the petition drive has gone smoothly, with only a couple of complaints lodged by volunteers.

Recall Fahey volunteers plan to collect signatures Tuesday outside post offices in an effort to reach last-minute taxpayers. The petitions are due back to the Douglas County Election Commissioner's Office next week.
