Red Cross Heartland Chapter honors local heroes

Omaha, NE – The American Red Cross Heartland Chapter held its 10th Annual Heroes in the Heartland event earlier this week. Heroes in the Heartland recognizes those who have had a positive impact on quality of life. This year's Heroes include:

Jeff Wilke, who was awarded the Lifetime Hero Award for donating blood, platelets, bone marrow and stem cells for over 20 years.

LaDonn Stennis, who received the Call to Action Award for assisting an Omaha Police Officer injured in the line of duty.

Scott Bonsall and the Norfolk Fire Division, for their efforts fighting a 30,000 gallon propane tank fire in December.

Bill and Evonne Williams, who organized and raised funds for Nebraska Heartland Honor Flights.

Dr. William Marcil for opening a Magis Psychiatry Clinic in Omaha, a free clinic providing services for the homeless and underserved.
