Richman Gordman animals featured in new exhibit

By Cheril Lee

Omaha, NE – A unique set of zoo land animals will soon be making an appearance at The Omaha Children's Museum. The animals include an elephant, a camel, a hippo and a kangaroo.

Christina Kahler, Marketing Director for the Omaha Children's Museum, says the animals were originally located at Richman Gordman stores throughout the region. There were about five sets in stores until the early 1990s. Kahler says one set will be refurbished and become a permanent part of the Museum. The set debuts in the Museum's fall exhibit, The Big Backyard.

Kahler says some fiberglass on the animals needs to be repaired because they've been outside in people's yards for the last ten or 20 years. She says the Museum is thrilled to have the animals and to preserve a piece of Omaha childhood.
