Special program on Cash's latest album to air Sunday night on KIOS.For her latest album, The List, Roseanne Cash brought her contemporary sound to the list of classic country songs her father made for her in her teens. This one-hour special presents how this project pays tributes in equal parts to Johnny Cash's legacy as a father and mentor, the timeless songs that influenced his own
career, the legendary songwriters who originally brought them to life, and the many
artists who have recorded them over the years.
As we hear these songs throughout the program, Roseanne Cash discusses how each of these factors inspired her own recordings. Other interviews include producer John Leventhal, journalist Anthony DeCurtis and singer/songwriter Laura Cantrell.
The program is hosted by Michael Young of WFPK in Louisville, Kentucky.
Recent awards for The List include Album of the Year from the 2010 Americana Music Awards and a 2011 Grammy Nomination for Best Americana Album.
