Science on Screen starts Tuesday at Film Streams

On Tuesday, March 22nd, Film Streams kicks off a new series called Science on Screen.

Patrick Kinney, Communications Director for Film Streams, says on Tuesday night, they will screen the Steven Soderbergh virus thriller CONTAGION.

Kinney says Science on Screen is a national initiative started by the Coolidge Corner Theatre part that pairs classic, cult and documentary films with talks led by notable figures from the worlds of science, technology and medicine.

Tuesday night’s film screening will be followed by a discussion with the Dean of UNMC’s College of Public Health, Dr. Ali S. Khan.

"Dr. Khan actually consulted on the film and he’s kind of notorious.  A few years ago people might remember there was a CDC guide on the zombie apocalypse (that was obviously a parody) but Dr. Khan wrote that so we are expecting a lively and entertaining talk from him.”

CONTAGION screens at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22nd.  Ticket information is available online at filmstreams.org.  Film Streams is located at 1340 Mike Fahey Street.
