Search continues for missing Omaha 5-year-old

Police will resume their search this morning in and along the Elkhorn River for missing 5-year-old Josue Ramirez-Marinero.

Omaha Police, along with state and federal law enforcement, began an air and ground search Friday along the Elkhorn River at Highway 275 in connection with the disappearance of 5-year-old Josue Ramirez-Marinero. In a news release, Omaha Police said they have reason to believe the boy was thrown in to the river at that location.

Josue’s 11-month-old brother, Angel, was released from the hospital Friday and reunited with family. Angel Ramirez-Marinero was found alive in a dumpster Wednesday at an apartment complex in La Vista.

25-year-old Roberto Martinez-Marinero is accused of first-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. He is the son of Jesus Ismenia Marinero, the mother of Josue and Angel. Her body was found Wednesday evening at 4th and Cedar Streets.
