Second Congressional District race gains another candidate

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – Another candidate has entered the Second Congressional District race.

Republican Matt Sakalosky hopes to challenge six-term incumbent Lee Terry in next year's primary. Sakalosky is an Omaha native and owns a health care consulting firm. He says health care reform, spending, and taxes are the major issues his campaign will focus on. Sakalosky says he hopes for "healthy debate" with Terry. Terry was re-elected last November and plans to run again in 2010.

State Senator Tom White, a Democrat, formed an exploratory committee last month. He's considering a run for the Second Congressional District seat as well.
