Sen. Fischer discusses her priorities for lame duck session of Congress

Congress is returning for the lame duck session---the session before new lawmakers are seated.

U.S. Senator Deb Fischer of Nebraska says lawmakers have a lot to do during the short session. One action will be to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government. Another is the National Defense Authorization Act.

Fischer says the confirmation of President Obama’s nominee for Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, should wait until January. She also expects that’s when lawmakers will take up a bill on the Keystone XL pipeline.

Fischer’s comments came Wednesday during her weekly conference call with Nebraska media.
