Sen. Rich Pahls in intensive care at a Lincoln hospital

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Lincoln, NE – State Senator Rich Pahls is in intensive care at a Lincoln hospital.

Pahls represents Omaha's 31st District. A news release from Speaker Mike Flood's office says Pahls is suffering from an auto-immune condition. He's hospitalized at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln. No additional information about Pahls' condition was released. It may be several weeks before doctors determine when Pahls can return to the Legislature, according to his family.

The 66-year-old Pahls was first elected to the Legislature in 2004. He is chairman of the Banking, Commerce and Insurance Committee and also serves on the Government, Military and Veterans' Affairs Committee.
