Senator Johanns Votes for the Continuing Resolution

Nebraska’s Senior U-S Senator says he voted for the continuing resolution that’ll fund the government through the end of September.

Johanns’ comments came during his weekly conference call with Nebraska media.

He said the continuing resolution ensures the continued operations of the services people rely upon.

Johanns said it complies with the spending cuts that were mandated by the Budget Control Act.

"It keeps regular, discretionary spending at the levels established by the Budget Control Act and it actually brings those discretionary spending dollars below a trillion, which is something that hasn’t happened since 2006.”

Senator Johanns said if the continuing resolution had not been approved, the government shutdown would’ve begun yesterday.
