Senator Johanns Weighs In On Healthcare Law Mandate

During his weekly conference call with Nebraska media, US Senator Mike Johanns talked about the mandate that employers provide healthcare coverage for all employees under President Obama’s healthcare law.

He says there are many decisions being made about the law, some of which are proving to be devastating to the community, state and national economy.

Senator Johanns says he believes part of the law shouldn't have been put off for a year.

"Postponing the employer mandate was a small step in the right direction but he shouldn’t stop there. The president should postpone indefinitely the law, if I had my way, but definitely the individual mandate.”

Senator Johanns says the discussion will continue over the weeks ahead about what the law is and isn’t doing. A new website was recently launched to provide information about insurance options under the Affordable Care Act.
