Six Republican candidates for Iowa's 3rd Congressional District

Two current office-holders are among the six Republican candidates for Iowa’s Third Congressional District.

That seat is currently held by Tom Latham. Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz, a former Council Bluffs City Councilman, is running for Third Congressional District. So is State Senator Brad Zaun, the former Mayor of Urbandale.

Robert Cramer owns Cramer and Associates, a construction firm in Grimes. Joe Grandanette is a business owner who previously ran for the Iowa Legislature.

Shenandoah native Monte Shaw is executive director of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association. David Young is the former Chief of Staff for U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley.

The Republican winner will face Democratic candidate Staci Appel in the November general election. Appel is a former State Senator and a native of Ackworth.

Iowa’s primary election is June 3rd. More information is available at www.sos.iowa.gov.
