Smart personal finance, budget management focus of upcoming workshops

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – Workshops on personal finance, credit, homebuying and identity theft are being offered during Money Smart Nebraska Week.

The financial education seminars will be held Monday through Saturday at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The goal is to educate the UNO community and public about issues surrounding personal finance and budgeting.

Mary Lynn Reiser is with UNO's Center for Economic Education. She says financial education workshops are important during uncertain economic times because they'll help people make better decisions. Reiser says college students in particular need financial education because many are dealing with finances for the first time.

All workshops will be held in Roskens Hall, Room 402 on the UNO campus.
