Storm temporarily knocks out power to three Council Bluffs pumping stations

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – Monday night's strong thunderstorms knocked three Council Bluffs storm water pumping stations offline for an hour.

A news release from the city says the Dodge Park, Avenue C, and Playland pumping stations lost power about 8:30 pm Monday. MidAmerican Energy got the stations back online about an hour after the storm.

City officials say they're planning for potential flooding and encourage residents to do the same. If an evacuation order is issued, it'll be sent via media, the emergency alert system, and through Council Bluffs' Code Red notification system.

The city also set up a Facebook page where they're posting daily updates on the Missouri River flood situation.
