Strategic Air & Space Museum Awarded a NASA Grant

The Strategic Air and Space Museum was awarded a 2012 NASA Summer of Innovation Grant in July.

The grant was used to support programs at the museum that encourage students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Paul Clark, Education Director for the museum, says the funds will help support the museum’s robotic camp.  He says more than 70 kids have been participating in the robotics camp this week, interacting with engineering students and professors in UNO’s Robotics Lab.

"We’re kind of pulling out all the stops to get as many kids out here as possible and give them as high quality a look at all kinds of robotic platforms, not just Mindstorms.  We are looking at several different platforms and giving them opportunities to tinker with stuff.  We give them motors and batteries and let them build robots of their own .”

More information on the museum’s camps is available here.
