Omaha’s skyline is the centerpiece of Douglas County’s new official seal.
Commissioners unveiled the winning design at Tuesday’s county board meeting. It was drawn by Miguel Chavez, a South Omaha native, and was one of five finalists from 26 submissions.
Douglas County started the contest for a new seal last July, as part of a 100th anniversary celebration of the Courthouse.
The new image will be Douglas County’s official seal as of July 2013, and will be displayed in the legislative chambers at the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center.
