Three face off for Omaha City Council's District 4 Seat

Democrat Garry Gernandt is the incumbent District 4 representative for the Omaha City Council. 

Prior to being elected to the Omaha City Council, Gernandt spent four decades in public service, first as a US Marine and then as an Omaha Police Officer.

On April 2nd, Gernandt will face two challengers in the primary election.  One is Nonpartisan Virgil J. Patlan, Senior.  Patlan is also a retired Omaha Police Officer.

Patlan is currently involved in the local chapter of the Latino Peace Officers Association.  He has publicly expressed his desire to boost Latino political representation for South Omaha.

Nonpartisan candidate Jacob Perasso is also running for the City Council’s 4th District seat.
