"Touch the Wall" is coming to Marcus Midtown Cinema next week

If you’re planning to check out the Olympic Swim Trials coming to Omaha, you may be interested in Touch the Wall, a female sports documentary about Olympic swimmers Missy Franklin and Kara Lynn Joyce.

Outreach Coordinator, Laura Aguirre explains what the documentary is about and says the film has an Omaha connection.

"It follows Missy from when she was 13 years old, Kara when she was 25, and their journey to trials, which took place in Omaha and later the Olympics in London in 2012. It’s a film about these two female swimmers and basically how they conquer the sport and how they look at their own struggles or successes to getting to this platform.”

Aguirre says the film is about much more than swimming and that it will leave all viewers feeling happy and inspired to follow their own dreams.

Showings of the film start Monday, June 27 and run through Sunday, July 3 at Marcus Midtown Cinema.

There will also be two separate Q&A’s, one with the parents of Missy Franklin and another with Kara Lynn Joyce.

Show times are available online at marcustheatres.com.
