Two north Omaha churches to be part of Project Interfaith's architecture tour

By Cheril Lee

Omaha, NE – Project Interfaith's Annual Architecture Tour goes to north Omaha this year.

The tour happens Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Executive Director Beth Katz says this year's theme is "Places of Worship in North Omaha." The tour will feature St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Katz says both sites are great examples architecturally of north Omaha's rich culture and history. She says the churches are also a testament to the development of the community and the contributions of North Omaha residents to the city as a whole.

Pre-registration for the tour is recommended at projectinterfaithusa.org as space is limited. Check-in begins at 1:00 and the tour runs through 5:00. Sacred Heart Church will host a reception at the conclusion of the tour.
