United Way of the Midlands President and CEO Karen Bricklemyer has died.
Bricklemyer was hospitalized last Tuesday with a heart condition called an aortic dissection. She died Monday at Alegent Creighton University Medical Center. Bricklemyer was 47 years old.
She joined the United Way of the Midlands as President and CEO in March 2011. In a news release, the United Way says $68 million was raised during Bricklemyer’s tenure for community programs.
