Omaha, NE – The United Way of the Midlands exceeded its $21 million fundraising goal for 2009.
The results were announced Tuesday during the organization's annual meeting. Rex Fisher, Chairman of the Board, says the Midlands chapter received donations from more than 80,000 individuals and over 1,000 businesses.
Dick Holland won the United Way's 2010 Citizen of the Year Award for his work with a variety of causes including the arts, various colleges, medical institutions and most recently, Building Bright Futures.
