LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A University of Nebraska water expert is scheduled to speak about drought management and water storage.
Roberto Lenton will discuss the issues at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Center for Great Plains Studies in Lincoln. The talk is free and open to the public.
Lenton will speak about coping with water scarcity and achieving food security in times of severe drought.
Lenton is the founding executive director of the university's Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Institute and a specialist in water resources and sustainable development. Before coming to the university, he chaired the World Bank's Inspection Panel and was senior adviser at Columbia University's Earth Institute.
