UNO offers new undergraduate degree in IT Innovation

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – The University of Nebraska-Omaha plans to offer a new undergraduate degree this fall that combines information technology with another field of study.

The new program offers a degree in IT Innovation. Starting this fall, students in the IT Innovation program will take courses in both information technology or computer science and another discipline. They'll also be required to attend monthly workshops and take a capstone course on entrepreneurship.

Jerry Wagner is director of the program. He says the idea came about several years ago when students began expressing interest in getting a degree in both graphic design and IT. Wagner says students won't notice much change in terms of course offerings when the fall semester begins.
