UNO opening new center for Israel and Jewish Studies

Omaha, NE – The University of Nebraska-Omaha is opening a new center dedicated to Israel and Jewish studies.

The Natan and Hannah Schwalb Center for Israel and Jewish Studies opens July first. New classes will be offered on subjects including the Israel-Palestinian conflict and foreign policy. A lecture series will also begin this fall.

Guy Matalon, a professor of Judaic Studies in UNO's Department of Philosophy and Religion, says the Center is important given recent conflicts and a new administration.

The Schwalb Center will be located in UNO's College of Arts and Sciences.
