UNO is investigating unauthorized access to a server.
University officials say someone accessed an administrative unit server in Campus Security. The breach was discovered within the past week during a security scan. The server in question contained some files with personal information, including Social Security numbers.
In a news release, UNO says they’ve taken multiple steps following the data breach, including investigating the scope of the unauthorized access, removing the server from service, and working with law enforcement.
It’s not yet known if anyone’s personal information was accessed.
