UNO and STRATCOM are partnering on a new leadership and professional development program.
Ten STRATCOM employees are participating in the Leader Fellowship Program. It began this week. T.J. Hammond, Chief of Workforce Development for STRATCOM, says the 13 week program focuses on real-world skills and knowledge STRATCOM employees need.
"For example, they started off this week talking about applied research methods. They’ll move in to a topic next week on the psychology of terrorism. They’ll come back the following week and talk about ethical leadership, and then they’ll go in to a cross-cultural discussion on how to kind of do problem identification and frame problems for the commander."
Hammond says the program is an important opportunity for STRATCOM employees to gain skills and knowledge as the civilian workforce grows.
The Leader Fellowship program is a pilot program. Hammond hopes it’ll continue.
