UNO's 10th Annual 7 Days of Service Continues this Week

UNO’s 7 Days of Service began on Saturday and continues through Friday.

Bri Exstrom, PR Student at UNO, says this is the 10th anniversary of 7 days of service.

Held during spring break, the 7 Days of Service offers UNO students and community members the opportunity to work on 12 projects with 14 nonprofit organizations.

Exstrom says volunteers will be working with the Stephen Center, the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity, among others.

"It’s a great thing for people to do this over their spring break because it’s just giving back to their community.  I think it’s awesome that people are giving their time to maybe go out of state during spring break.  And they’re giving their time back to people in Omaha and it’s like a very rewarding thing that people are doing.”

Shuttles leave the Milo Bail Student Center at 8:30 each morning to take volunteers to the various work sites.  Buses return at 3:00 each afternoon.

Exstrom says anyone who is interested in volunteering may sign up using UNO’s website at unomaha.edu.
